Hochanda, The Home of Crafts, Hobbies AND Arts is a Shopping Channel dedicated to educating, entertaining and inspiring Craft and Hobbies enthusiast of all kinds. Our head office, including UK based contact centre, warehousing and state-of-the art TV facilities is based in Peterborough, with easy train links to London and road links to the A1 & A14. Hochanda are passionate about providing high quality TV content focusing first and foremost on demonstrations, and then providing high quality and fair price products for crafters and hobbyists to create their own.

We currently broadcast 24/7 Sky 663, Freesat 817, & Freeview 85 as well as streaming Live in HD though IPTV technology online at www.hochanda.com. Broadcasting live for 12 hours a day, we offer a huge variety of shows and products. Our website is fully transactional and our in-house call centre with Sales and Customer services is open 24/7.

Launched in August 2015 we now have a 90 strong team across all departments. We outsource very little as we pride our self in Hochanda staff providing Hochanda services to the Hochanda consumer. This we feel is the best way to see the passion throughout and ensure it reaches the end user. We are very proud of the team we have who have come from all corners of the Direct Response, Shopping TV, and Retail industry. Hochanda being in its infancy allows our team to really spread their wings and stretch their imaginations to bring the best out of their skills and experience.

Technical Operative

LOCATION: Hochanda Limited, 1184 Lincoln Road, Peterborough, PE4 6LA
POSITION TYPE: Full time

Description

In this role you will be using your technical operations skills in a studio and live playout environment to support the production and delivery of broadcast content for Hochanda.
This role is on a seven-day fortnight shift pattern.

Main Duties include
  • Rig and derig technical equipment in a safe manner as directed to support production requirements
  • Prepare the studio for use
  • Sound mixing and assisting the presenters and guests with their microphones
  • Operate technical equipment in the production of live and occasional pre-recorded studio content as required
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Report technical issues in a timely manner so that problems are addressed quickly and with minimal impact on the output
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with the production team
  • Attend production meetings when requested
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and promote a positive safety culture
  • Any additional duties as requested
Desired Skills
  • Previous experience in a technical operations role
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • A practical understanding of video and audio standards
  • Working knowledge of vision control
  • Knowledge of microphone techniques and basic sound mixing

Inbound Sales & Customer Services Adviser

Description

We are recruiting for our busy contact centre, based in Peterborough. You will be working as part of our inbound contact centre team taking a mix of sales calls and customer service calls.
Must be willing to travel to Oundle.

Main Duties include
  • To place customer orders and strive to resolve all customer enquiries at first point of contact, primarily by telephone but also by correspondence and email
  • Identify and maximise sales opportunities through cross selling and up selling through a sales by service approach
  • Maintain knowledge on; products, procedures and policies so as that an accurate and high level of service can be provided to customers
  • Identify, resolve and record customer complaints
  • Working as part of a team to achieve individual and department KPI’s and SLA's
Desired Skills
  • Previous call centre experience with a sales background desirable, yet not essential
  • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Excellent team player
  • Passion for people and customer service

Assistant Floor Manager

LOCATION: Hochanda Limited, 1184 Lincoln Road, Peterborough, PE4 6LA

Description

To ensure the safe running of the studio floor during all live and pre-recorded output. Ensure that all Studio and Backstage housekeeping/ health and safety standards are maintained. To oversee Sample Co-ordination in the day to day running of the area, liaise with buyers and guest to obtain the requirements for risk assessments for forthcoming shows.

Main Duties include
  • Ensure all samples for shows, including variants where appropriate are ready and air worthy.
  • Ensure all housekeeping standards are adhered to.
  • Contribute to a supportive, positive and efficient team environment between shifts by demonstration of appropriate behaviours.
  • Checking that equipment, e.g. microphones and earpieces, are working before the show.
  • Relaying instructions from the studio floor using a talkback system to the gallery.
  • Run backstage in the absence of the Studio Manager.

Sales & Customer Services Team Leader

LOCATION: Hochanda Limited, 1184 Lincoln Road, Peterborough, PE4 6LA

Description

As Team Leader you will manage your team to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You’ll lead, coach and support your team to maximise productivity and ensure KPI’s are met.

Must be willing to travel to Oundle.

Main Duties include
  • Being responsible for your own team of customer service adviser's.
  • Manage the shifts performance on the telephones and ensue all key daily tasks are completed.
  • Always ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Dealing with all escalated queries from customers.
  • Motivate the team to achieve its goals.
  • Training new staff and existing staff on new procedures.
  • Provide one to one’s with team and advise Head of Operations of any issues.
  • Cascade key communications to the team.
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to the team.
  • Manage call traffic and volumes to ensure minimal abandonment rates.
  • Deputise for the Head of Operations when required.
Desired Skills
  • Strong ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels via various channels – telephone, email and face to face.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively through accurate planning, prioritisation and utilisation of own time and that of the team.
